The Story
Meet Denise Dornoch.
She is tired. She is poolside. Her kids are somewhere — she can hear them, she just can't see them. And the country club around her has quietly split into two colors, each convinced the other is the problem.
Denise refuses to be either one. Not a red, not a blue — just a whole, complicated, fully awake person trying to make it to sundown with her sense of self intact. The club has other plans. So does the pool.
